Treatment Philosophy
Dr.Saleemi believes in treating the pain generators to to enhance function. She also believes in a multidisciplinary treatment of pain which include pain medicines, pain procedures, exercise, behavioral therapy, diet modification etc. The goal of her treatment is not only to increase function but if possible to reduce or eliminate the need for back and neck surgeries and spinal cord stimulator implants. She does not believe in spinal cord stimulator as the spinal cord stimulator just confuses the pain signals and does not treat the pain generators. Dr.Saleemi treats pain with minimally invasive techniques like nerve blocks, sympathetic blocks, epidurals, neurolytic injections and Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Injections.
Interventional Pain Associates is the only practice in the city that offers Neural Scan technology to help identify the root cause of your pain.

Patients with chronic pain often become disabled in the pursuit of gaining relief from their pain. Real pain, real solutions
Nerve blocks: These can be done for headaches, low back and neck pain etc. They include injections like medial branch blocks, occipital nerve blocks, trigeminal nerve blocks etc. Epidurals and transforaminal nerve blocks: Epidural steroid injections and transforaminal nerve blocks deliver steroids directly into the epidural space in the spine. They are used to treat the inflammatory mediators from around the area that may be a source of pain. Sympathetic blocks: These are done for RSD/CRPS syndrome. (See the pictures from an actual patient treated for RSD at Interventional Pain Associates). BOTOX: is in a class of medications called neurotoxins and when injected into muscles, blocks the nerve signals that cause the tightening of muscle, leading to muscle relaxation. Botox injections can be done for neck and low back pain as well as migraine headaches. Botox Injections: Traditional therapies for the treatment of Myofascial pain syndrome include medications such as anti-inflammatory drugs (such as ibuprofen or naproxen), steroids and muscle relaxants, physical therapy and behavioral modification. Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Injections: Platelet activation plays a key role in the process of wound and soft tissue healing. The use of platelet rich plasma (PRP), a portion of the patient’s own blood having a platelet concentration above baseline, to promote healing of injured tendons, ligaments, muscles, and joints, can be applied to various musculoskeletal problems.
